You Are a Soul

Would you say that you have a soul? A wise Jewish woman once asked me this question. I quickly said yes. She chided, “I would say to you no. You are a soul. You have a body.” I loved her response. Jesus came to save our soul and not the body. The soul is never ending while the body will perish. I like to think of it as an earthen space suit used to navigate this planet. This year has really been a time for me to explore the concept of "being present." It is so essential to living well. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. We do not have to wait for death for this scripture to start coming to life for us. Every time we loose our earthly attachments, sit quietly and get in God’s presence it happens. In that place, HE will speak to you or silently strengthen you with HIS wisdom. Take some time today to forget about who you are or who you are not, what you have or do not have and be present with the LORD. You will love it!!
